Business Services Functional Review of Youth Justice

02 November 2018

The Public Service Association (PSA) has recently received formal correspondence (here) from the Department for Human Services (DHS) advising of a functional review of its business services model. The review will include Business Services, Executive Support and Maintenance across the Youth Justice (YJ) Division.

Part of the proposed review includes the creation of a YJ Business Services Hub that will be located at Kermode Street, North Adelaide.

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is obliged under clause 34 of the South Australian Modern Public Sector Enterprise Agreement: Salaried 2017 to undertake appropriate consultation in relation to any proposed changes that may affect employees’ working conditions or the services employees provide.

Consequently, a consultative forum is in the process of being established. The PSA and Worksite Representatives (WSRs) will be in attendance at these meetings. The first meeting is scheduled for 7 November 2018 at Grenfell Street.

The PSA encourages members to provide feedback or concerns to their respective WSRs.

Alternatively feedback can be provided to PSA by email or by phone.

The PSA General Secretary and PSA Vice President will also be attending regular Consultative Committee meetings to discuss the overarching strategic vision for Youth Justice which has been titled Connected Youth Justice. Presentations on this strategy are to be provided to all staff in due course.
