The Public Service Association (PSA) has been notified by the Department for Environment and Water (DEW) of the next consultation phase under the ‘Reshaping DEW’ project. As part of this phase the National Parks and Wildlife Division will established.

Under the proposal the Division would comprise of:

  •  National Parks and Crown Land Programs

  •  Economic Development, Tourism and Commercial Services
  •  Cleland Wildlife Park

The PSA is aware that staff have been advised of this proposal and have received proposed organisational structures for their areas as well transition principles which have been previously consulted on.

The Department expects that three ongoing employees in the metropolitan area will be declared excess to requirements under this proposal. The PSA will work with members to ensure their rights under the Enterprise Agreements are adhered to. All other affected staff will be filled into the proposed organisational structures after the consultation period has concluded.

Member feedback during this consultation period is a crucial right available to you through your enterprise agreements. Providing feedback through the PSA is a confidential process and the Department must respond to the feedback provided by the PSA.

It is expected that further consultation will occur on group and regional proposals. During that time the PSA will hold member meetings and teleconferences to discuss the specific proposals.

Members with feedback about the proposal can provide it to PSA by email by Monday 27 May 2019.
