Dispute Lodged in Industrial Relations Commission - Medical Records

08 January 2016

The Public Service Association (PSA) has lodged a dispute in the SA Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) about the Medical Records Administrative Officers personal reclassification applications from ASO1 to ASO2.

The dispute is about the operative date of the personal reclassification applications of Medical Records Administrative Officers at Flinders Medical Centre (FMC), Repatriation General Hospital (RGH) and Noarlunga Hospital (NH).

The PSA members in FMC lodged their applications on 8 December 2014 and members at RGH and NH lodged their applications on 22 January 2015.

The PSA has advised SALHN that the operative date for the reclassification must be no later than three months from the date of lodgement of applications, as per stated in clause 17, Reclassification Date – South Australian Public Sector Wages Parity Enterprise Agreement: Salaried 2014. As a result, the PSA has sought payments to be backdated for FMC members to 8 March 2015, and for members in NH and RGH to have payments backdated to 22 April 2015.

SALHN maintains that the reclassification is management initiated and therefore the operative date would be the 14 September 2015. Included in this arrangement there would be arrears backdated to the first full pay period from 1 July 2015.

Due to the disagreement about the operative date, the PSA has referred the matter to the IRC.

Please forward any questions regarding this matter to the PSA.
