DPTI Consultative Forum: Cuts to Employee Representation

08 August 2018

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is proposing to cut the number of employee representatives on the DPTI Consultative Forum by more than half. A comparison of the current and proposed structures can be found here.

In response to this the Public Service Association (PSA) has asked the Department to include all PSA Worksite Representatives (WSR’s) as per clause 37.6.2.1 of the South Australian Modern Public Sector Enterprise Agreement: Salaried 2017 which states:

37.6.2.1 Reasonable paid time to participate in consultation and grievance and dispute resolution processes under the terms of this Enterprise Agreement and legislation, or in other consultative forums established by the employer.

Given the large number of members in the Department it is essential that your trained Worksite Representatives are allowed to participate in these meetings. Your Worksite Representatives represent your rights and interests in this forum, which is intended to be one of the ways the Department and your union consults on workplace issues.

Service SA, the Office of Valuer General and the Officer of Registrar General have also now joined the Department. Under the current proposal these Divisions would not have specific representation from their worksites, instead having a Representative for their entire Division represent them.

PSA members can send feedback on the proposed structure to the their PSA Organiser by email by 5:00pm Wednesday 15 August 2018.
