Improvements to Return to Work Provisions Must Apply to All

20 January 2016

In this morning's edition of the Advertiser, it has been reported the newly appointed Minister for Police, The Honorable Peter Malinauskas MP, was "willing" to revisit the proposal to provide superior Return to Work provisions for Sworn Police Officers.

As advised previously, the Public Service Association (PSA) is committed to ensuring that PSA members are not treated as second class workers. Public sector workers must be valued and treated equally. No injured worker is more important than another.

PSA members do not go to work to get injured.

PSA members provide vital services to the South Australian community. The PSA will not accept a
situation where one group of workers receives superior return to work outcomes compared to others. The PSA will continue to advocate for the rights of injured workers.
