Mental Health Update Regarding Deloitte Report And Greg Stevens’ Report Released

07 July 2017

As members are aware, the Public Service Association (PSA) and members have all been waiting for the release of the Deloitte Report implementation plan/timeframes and the Greg Stevens Report and workshop information.

The PSA has been consistently lobbying SA Health for this information, including as recently as Monday this week (3 July 2017).

As a result of the PSA’s advocacy, along with that of the ANMF (SA Branch), a meeting was called for today (7 July 2017) at SA Health.

The PSA is pleased to advise that SA Health has commited to taking action to implement the recommendations of the Deloitte Report as follows:

Implementation of the recommended actions will be piloted in SALHN this calendar year, commencing within the next few weeks.
Staff and unions will be engaged and consulted throughout the process.
There will be representation from NALHN and CALHN around the table for the SALHN pilot so that learnings from the SALHN process can be applied to the other LHNs.
Implementation in NALHN and CALHN will take place in the first six months of 2018, with the intent that the actions arising from the recommendations of the Deloitte Report will be completed by 30 June 2018.

In addition, the Greg Stevens Report (here) and actions arising from that report (here) has also been released.

The email to the PSA regarding this can be found (here).

The release of the above information is a great outcome and has only been achieved by the lobbying of the PSA and members.

The PSA will continue to keep members informed and will meet with Adult CMH members after the Deloitte Recommendations Implementation Plan is released.
