The New Housing Authority

29 June 2018

Housing SA employees received an email yesterday advising them that from Monday 2 July 2018 they will be employed under the new Housing Authority.

Staff will still be public servants employed under the Public Sector Act and covered by the same enterprise agreement as now.

Key questions members would like to see addressed, as well as any concerns or questions about the change and what it means, can be provided through the PSA survey at: http://cpsu.asn.au/training-programs/course-signups/psa-members-meeting-housing-sa-and-renewal-sa

Members can also direct any immediate questions or issues by email to PSA.

The change to the new Housing Authority has been determined by Government. However there are a number of questions still outstanding from members about what this will mean in terms of local level implementation. The PSA will be seeking an urgent meeting to discuss the implications for staff and will report any outcomes to members.

PSA Organiser recently met with members and Worksite Representatives to develop a plan for the immediate future.

One of the key issues that has been identified through this process is the large number of long term contract staff across Housing SA and Renewal SA. The PSA is seeking an audit of contracts at Renewal SA and Housing SA through the Office of the Public Sector as a part of the MoG changes.

If your contract has not been renewed or has been terminated please contact the PSA Members’ Rights Hotline immediately.
