The PSA – Continuing to Protect SA Pathology and Members’ Interests

19 May 2017

The PSA is continuing to work hard protecting the SA Pathology workforce.

Since the early announcements of the Ernst and Young Review, the PSA’s representations have influenced a reduction in proposed staff cuts and ensured a more robust and inclusive consultative process to include staff representation and participation. The PSA will continue to do so through the process of genuine consultation and strong representation.

The PSA has provided thorough, intelligent feedback, suggestions and raised public heath and quality service concerns about the SA Pathology Proposed Operational Configuration and Workforce Model. We intend to do so again with the release of the ‘updated’ SA Pathology Proposed Operational Configuration and Workforce Model.

The PSA is the only organisation which provides direct worker input at Executive meetings with SA Pathology and is the only organisation which covers all ASOs, TGO, OPS, MeS and POs.

Consultation is about the sharing of information and the genuine exchange of views between all persons or bodies that must be consulted and the genuine opportunity for them to contribute effectively to any decision making process.

Through this process the PSA and our members will continue to work to protect SA Pathology jobs.
