LEGAL SERVICES SCHEME
Who is covered by
the Scheme?
All financial members of the Public Service
Association of SA Incorporated and the Community and Public Sector
Union/State
Public Services Federation (SA Branch).
What range of
services are offered?
The PSA/CPSU
Legal Services Scheme
is split into three steps.
Step One
- The Telephone Legal Advisory
Service (metro 8463
3690, country 1800 088 572) will assess your
need and recommend
appropriate action. This will include an after hours
phonelink should
you need urgent representation, such as being arrested.
- Access to brochures to enable a simplified
understanding of your rights.
Step
Two
- A 30 minute free first consultation with a lawyer or
other service provider.
After the
first two steps an application
must be made for further funding to the Scheme Managers.
Step Three
After acceptance into the Scheme,
legal
representation covers the following areas:
- Personal and consumer matters
- Most minor criminal offences
- Mediation Services for family matters (Adelaide and
Riverland only)
- Alternative dispute resolution process, where
applicable.
