FLINDERS
UNIVERSITY ENTERPRISE BARGAINING UPDATE
Enterprise
Agreement listed for hearing by Fair Work Australia on Wednesday 29
June 2011
The
Enterprise Agreements from University of South Australia and
University of Adelaide have been approved by Fair Work Australia and
both Agreements are now effective.
The application for
approval of the Enterprise Agreement for Flinders University was
listed for Hearing on Wednesday 22 June by Fair Work Australia but
due to the Commissioner becoming unavailable at short notice the
listing was cancelled and the matter is now listed for hearing
Wednesday 29 June.
While the document is not as progressive
as we may have liked, it represents a reasonable compromise and
enables the University and staff to move forward and address the many
challenges that confront us all in the Higher Education Sector.
CPSU encourages all members to become familiar with the new
Agreement to ensure that the improvements are adopted in your work
area. Please feel free to contact the CPSU at any stage if you
would like more information.
CPSU would also like to
take this opportunity to encourage you to discuss with colleagues the
benefits of CPSU membership and to remind those who are not yet
members that it was the strength of the unions involved in the
negotiations that brought about the improved pay and employment
conditions.
It has been a difficult bargaining round however
we now move forward with excellent Agreements that provide
substantial entitlements and protections for university general
staff.
Your membership and support through these protracted
negotiations has been greatly appreciated as we have worked and
striven to get an agreement that delivered just and fair pay
increases and restored unions rights and quality conditions for
general staff. Thank you.
