17 May 2012 On Tuesday 15 May 2012, the PSA met with Department for Communities and Social Inclusion officers with initial feedback on proposals for the new centre. HOSPITAL CAR PARKING FEES - SUPREME COURT APPEAL UPDATE 9 May 2012 Today the full Bench of the Supreme Court of South Australia heard the Public Service Association's (PSA) appeal of the Industrial Relations Court decision on Hospital Car Parking Fees handed down on 3 February 2012. PSA & CORRECTIONS RESOLVE DISPUTE 4 May 2012 The PSA and Department of Correctional Services, with the assistance of the Industrial Relations Commission of South Australia, have worked together to resolve the matter of dispute with regard to the Adelaide Women's Prison (AWP). PSA MEETING WITH IR MINISTER RE FLEXITIME 12 April 2012 PSA General secretary Jan McMahon and Chief Industrial Officer Peter Christopher have met with the Minister for Industrial relations, ether Hon. Russell Wortley regarding the SA Health proposal to reduce/remove flexitime. PSA DEFENDS FLEXITIME 12 April 2012 The Health Department has proposed to remove flexi-time provisions for senior staff in what it claims is a measure to better manage working arrangements and to reduce costs. MANAGING COMPRESSED WEEKS - PUBLIC HOLIDAYS FALLING ON A PROGRAMMED DAY OFF 12 April 2012 The PSA has been advised by members that the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion has misinterpreted the government policies regarding a public holiday that falls on a programmed day off within a compressed weeks arrangement. UNDERPAYMENT OF PENALTY RATES 12 April 2012 The PSA has written to the Director Service SA regarding underpayment of penalty rates. PSA MEETS WITH DECD CHIEF EXECUTIVE 3 April 2012 PSA Assistant General Secretary Nev Kitchin, Dr Kevin Purse former Workcover board member and OHS Commissioner, together with Robert Keage, Health and Safety Representative/ PSA Worksite Representative for the Health and Safety Services Unit, met with CEO Keith Bartley and Director Phil O'Loughlin to discuss the operation of the Department for Education and Child Development (DECD) Health and Safety Services Unit. PSA WINS RECREATION LEAVE LOADING 3 April 2012 The PSA has been successful in its claim that Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency staff employed on a letter of appointment are entitled to Recreation Leave Loading. PART TIME, TEMPORARY 16% LOADING 2 April 2012 The PSA achieved a phased in increase of the casual loading from 20% to 25% for School Services Officers. FLEXI TIME CHANGES 2 April 2012 The PSA has received and perused the draft new policy on Flexi-Time received from the Department for Health and the Ageing that is proposed to be implemented across all health agencies. REMOVAL OF FLEXITIME IN HEALTH 30 March 2012 SA Health has advised the PSA that it intends to remove the access to Flexi Time provisions to all employees classified as ASO7, AHP4, MeS4, PO4 and above. PUBLIC HOLIDAY CAMPAIGN 16 March 2012 The Government has legislation before the Parliament at present which will deregulate city shopping hours and also create two new half day public holidays on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Both issues are linked and cannot be separated. ALLOWANCES AND ACCOMMODATION REIMBURSEMENT RATES 6 March 2012 Most allowances were increased either from the 1st October 2011 as a result of State Wage Case decisions or on the 23rd December 2011, in accordance with the Consumer Price Index (CPI). WAGES & CONDITIONS 2012 SINGLE BARGAINING CENTRE MEETS 29 February 2012 The formal process of Enterprise Bargaining commenced today with the holding of a Single Bargaining Centre meeting. SHARED SERVICES WORKFORCE CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE 29 February 2012 The PSA attended the recent Shared Services SA Workforce Consultative Committee. URBAN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY 29 February 2012 The PSA met with the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion to discuss the implications for members when the new Urban Renewal Authority is established. HEALTH CAR PARKING UPDATE 24 February 2012 Following the Decision by the Supreme Court this morning to grant permission to the PSA to appeal, formal advice has been received that SA Health will continue to maintain current arrangements and not to implement the new car parking fees. CAR PARKING DISPUTE - PSA TO APPEAL 23 February 2012 As part of the PSA's ongoing commitment to protect members' conditions of employment, the PSA has lodged an appeal with the Supreme Court of South Australia regarding metropolitan hospital car parking. TAFE SA BILL 2012 16 February 2012 The TAFE SA Bill has been released today for public consultation. HOSPITAL PARKING: PSA SECURES INJUNCTION 23 September 2011 PSA members who are paying new or increased car parking rates or have been threatened with fines for not complying with new car parking arrangements at metropolitan hospitals have won a reprieve, following PSA's successful application for an injunction in the Industrial relations Court this morning. HOSPITAL CAR PARKING PSA LEGAL ACTION 21 September 2011 The hospital car parking dispute has taken a new turn with the PSA commencing legal action in the Industrial Relations Court. FAMILIES SA BANS 9 September 2011 PSA Executive met on 5 September 2011 and endorsed members embarking upon an industrial campaign in relation to the many issues related to the implementation of the KRONOS time keeping system. NEW ROYAL ADELAIDE HOSPITAL UPDATE 1 September 2011 The Public Service Association (PSA) is participating in the new Royal Adelaide Hospital (NRAH) Consultative Forum and Senior Industrial Officer Sue Cummins attended the meeting on Monday 29 August, 2011. 31 FLINDERS STREET EVACUATED 26 August 2011 31 Flinders Street was evacuated today at about 12.45 pm after a pipe burst during routine cleaning of the air conditioning system which resulted in diluted hydrochloric acid being released into the building. MINDA ENTERPRISE BARGAINING 2011 18 August 2011 The PSA continues to negotiate with Minda management for the development of a successor Enterprise Agreement to cover PSA members employed by Minda. ON-CALL ENTITLEMENTS 15 August 2011 It has come to the attention of the Public Service Association (PSA) that some members were not receiving the appropriate remuneration when working on-call. DISABILITY & DOMICILIARY CARE SERVICES INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS FORUM 1 August 2011 On 19 June 2011, the PSA hosted the regular Industrial Relations Forum. TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS DISPUTE - SA DENTAL SERVICE COUNTRY STAFF 18 July 2011 The PSA wrote to the General Manager, Statewide Dental Service, on 14 July 2011. The letter formally advised of a dispute. UNDERPAYMENT OF WAGES 6 July 2011 The PSA wrote to the Chief Executive, Department for Families and Communities on 19 January 2011 requesting assistance to resolve a matter of alleged incorrect application of annual leave loading resulting in an underpayment of wages.
