MINDA ENTERPRISE BARGAINING 2011
BACKGROUND
The PSA continues to negotiate with Minda management for the
development of a successor Enterprise Agreement to cover PSA members
employed by Minda. To progress negotiations the PSA is meeting with
Minda on Friday 19 August. To date, after consulting with PSA Job
Representative Steve Mills, the PSA reviewed the draft E.A circulated
by Minda and provided the following comments:
1. TITLE: amend to read, "Agreement No. 8, 2011."
10.PARTIES BOUND: amend PSA to read, "CPSU (SPSF Group) SA Branch"
26.HIGHER DUTIES: amend 26.2.2 to read, "greater than one (1) week" in lieu of 4 weeks.
31.PROGRAMMED DAYS OFF: amend 31.11 to read, "Employees will accrue" (ie, revert to text in previous EA)
NOTE: Members advised
they believe Minda has not kept good faith with the intention during
negotiations for the previous EA to enable staff to retain access to
PDO's. Consequently members confirm they will not support the agreement
unless the entitlement to access a monthly PDO is prescribed in the
current agreement.
51.7 SEVERANCE PAY: (51.7.2)
The PSA claims the current provisions are inadequate especially for
longer term employees when compared to industry standards. To
bring Minda in line with reasonable redundancy payments the PSA claims:
< 2 years 6 weeks pay
2 < 3 years 8 weeks pay
3 < 4 years 10 weeks pay
4 < 5 years 12 weeks pay
5 < 6 years 14 weeks pay
6 < 7 years 18 weeks pay
7 < 8 years 26 weeks pay
8 < 9 years 34 weeks pay
9 <10 years 42 weeks pay
10<10 years 52 weeks pay
The PSA also claimed for a fair and reasonable wage increase.
PSA Industrial staff, Vy Vo and Mike Thorpe look forward to meeting
with you and will be available to discuss the draft agreement and
answer your questions.
