FULL BENCH REJECTS GOVERNMENT'S DELAY APPLICATION 22 December 2004 Earlier today PSA appeared before the Full Bench of the South Australian Industrial Relations Commission following a Government application to vary Directions given by the Commission on 17 December 2004. A MAJOR STEP FORWARD FOR WOMEN 16 December 2004 Earlier today PSA attended a Direction's Hearing before the Full Bench of the SA Industrial relations Commission relating to the final salary increase and Paid maternity Leave. GOVERNMENT OPPOSES "APPLICATION FOR DISCOVERY" 13 December 2004 PSA General Secretary Jan McMahon, Assistant General Secretary Nev Kitchen and Chief Industrial Officer Peter Christopher attended a Directions Hearing before the Full Industrial Relations Commission of South Australia earlier today. PSA TO ATTEND DIRECTIONS HEARING 9 December 2004 The PSA has received notification from the Full Industrial Relations Commission of South Australia advising that a directions hearing will be held on Monday, 13 December 2004 at 9.00 am. 3.5% INTERIM AWARD INCREASE TO BE PAID TODAY 9 December 2004 The majority of Public Sector workers covered by the 'SA Government (Public Sector Salaried Employees) Salaries Interim Award' can look forward to receiving the recently awarded 3.5% Interim Award payment today. PSA MEETS WITH HEALTH CHIEF EXECUTIVE 2 December 2004 On Monday 29th November Jan McMahon, General Secretary and Gayle Peak, Assistant Chief Industrial Officer met with Jim Birch, Chief Executive and Rod Bishop, Director Corporate Services. A NEW CAR FOR $7000 26 November 2004 On Tuesday, the House of Assembly passed legislation that would enable MP's to receive taxpayer subsidised cars for $7,000 a year. 3.5% INTERIM AWARD PAYMENT UPDATE 15 November 2004 The Industrial Registrar is scheduled to "Settle the Minutes" on Monday morning, 15 November 2004. CHRISTMAS DAY 2004 2 November 2004 PSA wrote to Government regarding pay arrangements for working on Christmas Day, as the following Monday, 27 December, is regarded as a public holiday, not Saturday 25 December. COMMISSION MAKES INTERIM AWARD 29 October 2004 Deputy President Hampton today made an Interim Award which provides for a 3.5% pay increase from the first pay day on or after 1 October 2004. INTERIM AWARD 27 October 2004 PSA appeared before Deputy President Hampton in the Industrial Relations Commission on 26 October 2004. GOVERNMENT DELAYING TACTICS 25 October 2004 PSA has submitted a re-drafted Interim Award to the Commission, taking into account those matters agreed during the Directions Hearing. INTERIM AWARD UPDATE 21 October 2004 PSA attended a Directions Hearing regarding the Interim Award for the 3.5% per cent pay increase. RECRUITMENT COMPETITION 21 October 2004 PSA will be giving prizes during November for members who recruit new members to the Association. IRC HEARS CASE FOR INTERIM AWARD 30 September 2004 The PSA and Government today appeared before the Industrial Relations Commission regarding the long running wages and conditions dispute. EB - NO OUTCOME YET 29 September 2004 A Full Bench of the Industrial Relations Commission recommended that the option of a short Enterprise Agreement be considered by Government and the PSA. PUBLIC HOLIDAY WORK 23 September 2004 The PSA is in negotiations with Government, especially Department of Health, over shift workers' rights and conditions. PAY EQUITY INTERNATIONAL WEEK 16 September 2004 Public Services International has nominated 4th to the 8th October as Pay Equity International Week. EB - THE WAY FORWARD 18 August 2004 The Government's Enterprise Bargaining offer was comprehensively rejected in a ballot which saw only 5463 employees support the Government's proposal. MASSIVE 'NO' VOTE 16 August 2004 On Monday 16 August 2004, South Australian public sector workers overwhelmingly rejected the State Government's Enterprise Bargaining pay offer. EB 2004 - BALLOT POSTED 30 JULY 30 July 2004 An Industrial Relations Commission Conference was held on 28 July as a result of PSA concerns that Government was not complying with Commission Recommendations to amend misleading material issued by Government. EB 2004 - IRC UPDATE 29 July 2004 On 23 July 2004, Commissioner Doyle issued recommendations that Government amend misleading documentation sent out to employees. Government did not do this. ON-CALL ALLOWANCES 28 July 2004 The PSA advised in a brief dated 21 July 2004 that the On Call Allowances proposed in Governments' proposed Enterprise Agreement (subject to ballot) decreased the allowances by 10 cents as and from 1 October 2004.
