The reports
advised that city and regional meetings of about 150 Worksite
Representatives earlier in the day (January 21) had passed the
following resolutions:
Public Sector Bill 2008
“That
this meeting of PSA Worksite Representatives recommends to Council
that negotiations with Government be on the basis of maintaining job
security, no loss of current entitlements, independent Appeals
processes and with a Public Sector wide approach to issues, whilst
maintaining public sector workforce numbers so that the public sector
is genuinely an employer of choice.”
Shared
Services
That this meeting of PSA Worksite
Representatives:
-
supports the principle that no member should be disadvantaged
in any way as a result of the transition to Shared Services, and
-
supports a membership campaign should Government proceed with
the introduction in a manner which disadvantages members.
Accordingly, the following resolution was passed by Council:
"
That Council notes the recommendations of Worksite Representatives
meetings in Adelaide and by Regional Phone Link today, endorses their
recommendations and resolves:
That negotiations with
Government in respect to the Public Sector Bill 2008 be on the basis
of maintaining job security, no loss of current entitlements,
independent Appeals processes and with a Public Sector wide approach
to issues, whilst maintaining public sector workforce numbers so that
the public sector is genuinely an employer of choice, and
That
Council supports the principle that no member should be disadvantaged
in any way as a result of the transition to Shared Services, and
supports a membership campaign should Government proceed with the
introduction in a manner which disadvantages members. "
Further
information will be made available to members on the above major
issues.
