DOM CARE, DO THE RIGHT THING!

Public Service Association (PSA) Para-Medical Aide (PMA) members will commence Industrial Action on Monday 11th February 2008. Members are determined to implement the Withdrawal of Goodwill as a result of Domiciliary Care SA's (DCSA) continued refusal to commit to members request for additional hours.

So, what does this mean? Withdrawal of Goodwill is also referred to as "work to rule". This means that members do not perform any duty that is not contained in their Job and Person Specification. This means that clients will still receive a service, and members will only do what they are paid to do.

Examples of "Withdrawal of Goodwill" are as follows:

  • Ensuring that members take their 30 minutes unpaid break from work.

  • Members are entitled to take a 30 minute unpaid break in a safe and secure environment.

  • Not performing any duties that are unpaid, such as staying back to liaise with Clinicians or Service Coordinators.

  • Not performing work duties until contracted hours commence.

Members have determined to take this action in order to protect their jobs and quality of services for the South Australian community.

If you have any questions, concerns or would like an update at your worksite, please contact PSA Worksite Representatives or PSA Industrial Officer Jean-Guy Townsend on 8205 3233 or jgt@cpsu.asn.au
