DOMICILIARY CARE OUTSOURCING UPDATE

Public Service Association (PSA) Worksite Representatives, Meredith De-Young and Danny McCormick and a PSA Industrial Officer met with Domiciliary Care SA management representatives on Wednesday 5th March 2008.

The purpose of the meeting was to clarify whether opportunities for Carers to gain extra hours will be explored and to agree to future directions of how to fairly allocate additional hours and fill the newly created Relief Roster.

It was agreed that a "Working Group" will be created to develop principles and guidelines for achieving these objectives.

The "Working Group" will likely comprise the following representatives:

  • 2 Para Medical Aide PSA Worksite Representatives

  • 2 Para Medical Aide Staff Representatives

  • 1 Human Resource Representative

  • 2 Personal Support Coordinators

  • 2 Team Leaders

  • 1 to 2 Management representatives

If members are interested in participating please contact your PSA Industrial Officer. Staff Representatives can be PSA members.

The Salisbury and Playford worksites do not have a nominated PSA Worksite Representative. It is essential that all PSA members are represented throughout this process. If you are interested in becoming a PSA Worksite Representative please contact your PSA Industrial Officer for more information.

If you have any questions, concerns or would like an update at your worksite please contact PSA Worksite Representatives or PSA Industrial Officer Jean-Guy Townsend on 8205 3233 or jgt@cpsu.asn.au
