ROYAL ADELAIDE HOSPITAL INDUSTRIAL LIAISON FORUM

The purpose of the Royal Adelaide Hospital health service Industrial Liaison Forum (ILF) is to provide a consultation mechanism between RAH Management and the recognised Health Unions who have members employed at the RAH.

On Friday 2 May 2008,the Industrial Liaison Forum discussed the following key agenda items.

Smoking in Hospital grounds
There is continuing discussions regarding enclosing the gazebo. Management is seeking a sponsor as costings are currently too high. Signs have been redone and cleaning has been increased. An update will be provided at the next ILF.

Carparking – fees and structures
The fee structure for the car park will remain for now with no increases planned.

SA Metropolitan Hospital Efficiency and Performance Review
The RAH is currently working through the recommendations and will put together an action plan which will be available shortly. The majority of recommendations in the report are already in place in the hospital however some of the workforce issues will need to be worked through. Management assured the unions that no action will take place without thorough consultation with members.

Shared Services
Currently the hospital is working through the service design and will provide government with feedback shortly. The next phase will be discussions regarding positions and people. A count back plan is provided on the Shared Services website between now and October and the PSA and RAH will keep all staff fully informed of any changes taking place.

CRIS Implementation and other Payroll items
Testing is currently occurring with the system. Despite delays with the vendor, the system is expected to “go live” in early August. Management will ensure the accuracy of the system prior to the shared service transition to eliminate problems. Members will be well informed of all changes and issues as they arise.

ASO1 to ASO2 reclassifications
These reclassifications are continuing. The PSA has requested that the process be completed shortly.
