PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLY CHAIN CONSOLIDATION PROJECT

The PSA attended a consultative meeting with the Department of Health (DH) Procurement and Supply Chain Project Team on 28 May 2009.

DH advised that general information will soon be provided to all staff regarding which functions are in scope and which functions are out of scope. DH would then allow two weeks for comment and response. Following this DH intends to issue a personal letter to each staff member. DH have a draft letter for each of the following groups:

  • In scope employees – no change to reporting arrangements.

  • In scope employees – change in reporting arrangements.

  • In scope Supply Managers – change in reporting arrangements.

  • Partially in scope employees.

  • Out of scope employees.

It is planned that in scope staff will transition to DH on 1 July 09, however most staff will continue to report to their current manager/supervisor. Some managers will change reporting line direct to DH.

DH stated that the position/organisational structures will be designed in consultation with affected employees. DH will advise on a time frame for this at the next meeting with the PSA scheduled for 11 June 2009. A schedule of roadshows to inform staff of developments will also be provided at this meeting.

Any questions or comments you have may be forwarded to PSA Industrial Officer, Ted Szarek by email to tcs@cpsu.asn.au
