HAMPSTEAD REHABILITATION CENTRE REVIEW OF MANAGEMENT STRUCTURES

The PSA has received notification from the CNAHS Regional Leadership Team (RLT) that it is seeking to review the management structures of Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre and St Margaret's Hospital in order to improve reporting relationships with their host hospitals thereby assisting the organisation to achieve its goals under the SA Health Plan.

The RLT invites comment from members PSA in relation to the proposed management restructures viz:

  1. The positions of Site Manager and Director of Nursing HRC be abolished and replaced with a single position incorporating site management responsibility together with professional leadership of nursing. The single position will be established as an EO/DON under the Nurses/Midwives (SAPS) Enterprise Agreement 2007. The EO/DON will report directly to the General Manager RAH and will have a professional reporting relationship with the Executive Director Nursing/Midwifery Allied Health and Patient Care.

  2. The position of EO/DON St Margaret's Hospital will be abolished and the health unit will become a ward of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH). A senior nursing position will be established which will report directly the the Nursing Director, Division of Medicine TQEH.

PSA members are encouraged to contact the PSA with any comments or feedback they would like the union to make on their behalf. Comments will be treated confidentially.

Following comments from relevant stakeholders a final decision will be made by RLT after which CNAHS will engage in an appropriate consultation process with unions as well as affected staff to develop implementation strategies and HR Principles.
