ALLIED HEALTH CLASSIFICATION STRUCTURE ENTERPRISE BARGAINING
The
PSA is involved in ongoing discussions regarding a new Allied Health
Classification Structure. Confidential working papers have been
reviewed by the PSA Allied Health Members' Focus Group and suggested
improvements were raised by PSA with employer representatives. See PSA Brief 13/11/09.
The PSA will be meeting with government again on Wednesday 25/11/09 and
will then present a revised document to the PSA Allied Health Focus
Group on:
Thursday 26 November - 5.00pm
PSA Building - 1st Floor, 122 Pirie Street
If worksites consider that they require representation on this Focus Group please contact either Sue Cummins on sc@cpsu.asn.au or Dolly Costello on dlc@cpsu.asn.au
As the issues under discussion are in working papers, which are being
changed by additions and deletions and are without prejudice
discussions they cannot be distributed outside of the PSA Allied Health
Focus Group meetings until agreed to by the parties.
In broad terms, what is being examined are the classification criteria
for each level, the number of levels in the structure, progression
through the levels, (especially level 1 to Level 2), progression (or
pathways) for practitioners, specialists, researchers and educators as
well as managers and the occupational groups to be included in the
structure. PSA has requested that this structure apply to all agencies
which employ such occupational groups in respect to such groups.
The Enterprise Bargaining process involves a range of meetings with
government officials to progress issues on behalf of members as well as
the formal Enterprise Bargaining meetings, last held on Tuesday
17/11/09 [EB 2009 UPDATE 17/11/09].
The meetings regarding the Allied Health
Professional structure are thus one of many meetings the PSA is
involved in to ensure that PSA members gain a number of additional
benefits from the new Enterprise Agreement.
