MINDA INCORPORATED PROPOSED ENTEERPRISE AGREEMENT No. 7
PSA
representatives have been in joint negotiations with both the LMHU
and Minda Inc. management since 2008. Negotiated agreements have been
put to Ballot twice and have been rejected by the majority of
employees on both occasions.
The conditions of employment
contained in the proposed agreement have been renegotiated and tested
both times.
As bargaining representatives for employees at
Minda Inc. and management have now met an impasse, it was agreed by
all parties to refer the matter to the industrial referee at Fair
Work Australia.
On Thursday 8 April 2010 a Conference was held
before Commissioner Peter Hampton, Fair Work Australia. The PSA as a
party to the proposed agreement was in attendance at the
conference.
The PSA was represented by Senior Industrial
Officer Dolly Costello together with Minda Inc. PSA Job
Representative Steve Mills.
Commissioner Hampton met with each
of the parties attending initially in joint consultation and then
separately to discuss the issues concerning all parties.
The
Commissioner advised he would consider all supplied information and
make his recommendations at a resumed conference at 2pm on Monday 12
April 2010.
PSA will consider the Commissioner's
recommendations and continue a strategy of improving employment
conditions at Minda Inc and primarily protecting the rights of all
PSA members.
