ADELAIDE HEALTH SERVICE - UPDATE No. 1
SA
Health is reforming the administration of the public health system,
with 2 metropolitan health regions to be amalgamated with a management
objective to provide a more efficient health service across
metropolitan Adelaide. The Central Northern Adelaide Health Service
(CNAHS) and Southern Adelaide Health Service (SAHS) will combine to
form the Adelaide Health Service (AHS).
The Public Service Association (PSA) attended the Adelaide Health
Service Consultative Committee Meetings this week and was represented
by PSA Industrial Officer Sue Cummins, PSA Vice President and Health
Councillor Lesley Hughes (SAHS) and Worksite Representative Deb Muller
(CNAHS). The aim of these meetings is to ensure that
affected staff are informed and consulted regarding human resources
and/or industrial issues during transition to the new AHS.
The Draft Terms of Reference of the AHS Consultative Committee and the
Draft Human Resource Principles and Procedures to guide the transition
of staff to AHS were presented and discussed for consultation.
Once agreement has been released in principle then these Draft HR
Principles and Procedures will be out for wider consultation. In
the first instance, fortnightly meetings have been planned for this
committee until the end of June 2010.
The AHS management arrangements were presented by the Chief Executive
Officer of AHS Mr Martin Turner to the unions on Friday 28 May
2010. The PSA and the other unions, as well as Senior Management
of CNAHS and SAHS have been given to cob on Wednesday 2 June 2010 to
provide feedback. A finalised consultation document will then be
made available on the CNAHS and SAHS intranets for all staff to provide
feedback. At this stage the PSA will be also sending this
document out to members to provide comments.
The PSA will release an Information Update after each meeting to inform PSA Members of any pertinent information.
