CLOSURE OF WOMENS AND CHILDRENS HOSPITAL COUNSELLING SERVICE
The Public Service Association (PSA) has written to the Chief Executive of the Children Youth and Women's Health Service, after becoming aware that the in house Staff Counselling Service will be closed, and counselling services outsourced, despite the Government's no privatisation policy. The PSA has reminded the Chief Executive of the obligation to consult. There has been very little consultation with staff of the service, and no consultation with the Union. This is a breach of the SA Government Wages Parity (Salaried) Enterprise Agreement 2010. Further, PSA believes staff who utilise the service should be given the opportunity to provide their thoughts and feedback, this decision impacts on everyone that works at the WCH. The PSA is appalled that WCH Management would consider closing a service that has been supporting the welfare of staff for over 40 years. Particularly in an environment where staff are regularly dealing with illness and tragedy involving babies and children. The PSA is outraged by this decision and demands the Agency consult.
