HOSPITAL CAR PARKING UPDATE
A further meeting with representatives from the Department of Health and Union representatives took place on 22 June 2011.
Phase 1 Hospitals – The Queen Elizabeth (TQEH), Hampstead and Modbury
An update on progress of the planned 'Go Live' dates on hospital sites is listed below:
Modbury Hospital Monday 1st August 2011
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Monday 1st August 2011
Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre Monday 1st August 2011
SABAR contract documentation is in place. All the equipment is being
stored in a secure SABAR warehouse area awaiting installation.
Development approvals have been received for Hampstead and Modbury
Hospitals. TQEH approvals is expected to arrive soon as a
favourable recommendation from the Charles Sturt Council has been
received.
Gazette Notices will be placed with government publishers.
The location for an additional 60 car parks at Hampstead has been
identified and contractors are now engaged in preliminary discussions
once costs are fully known. Approval for funding will be sought to
ensure sealing of areas and lighting to standards are upheld.
The Unions will receive review notes in approximately 2 weeks time for
comment. Also a final version of the policy and exemption policy will
be distributed. The PSA will distribute the information to members for
comment as soon as received.
Phase 2 Hospitals – Lyell McEwin, Noarlunga and Repatriation General

Not all equipment has been ordered.
Development consent applications has been forwarded to the appropriate Department and Councils, (DAC).
DTEI approval has been received and gazette notices will be placed at the appropriate times.
SABAR contract documentation is in place. Equipment orders will be placed once the concept design has been signed off.
The lighting review of Phase 2 sites is ready to commence.
The security review of Phase 2 sites is being considered.
The staff communications package is awaiting approval. The launch will be tied in with the 'Go Live' date.
SA Pathology and IMVS car parking issues have been forwarded to the RAH
and the Department of Health is seeking further information regarding
these issues and will report back to this forum.
Unions requested that the Department of Health seek
information/connectivity to public transport availability to all sites
where car parking fees are being introduced. Follow up of this will be
reported at the next meeting.
