PRINTER-FRIENDLY VERSION

SHARED SERVICES REFORM AGENCY BRIEFINGS.

On 26 February 2007, PSA President Lindsay Oxlad, Acting Assistant Chief Industrial Officer Ian Peak, and Research Officer Josie Barbaro, met with Rick Persse, Executive Director, Shared Services Reform Office, and Kate Stephens and David Leach from the Shared Services Reform Office.

The meeting was held as part of the ongoing consultative process with the PSA for the development of Shared Services across the Public Sector. Agency briefings will soon commence for all staff and the PSA was given an opportunity to hear the presentation and provide feedback.

The briefings will cover details of the shared services reform process, and in addition gather feedback from staff. Briefings will also be conducted in regional areas where PSA members have raised specific concerns about the impact of shared services on their employment. Details of the meeting times can be found on the Shared Services Reform Office internet site (http://www.treasury.sa.gov.au/ssro).

The process is still in its early information gathering stages. The PSA will be represented by President Lindsay Oxlad on the Workforce Consultative Group which will meet regularly throughout the reform process. Members are encouraged to contact the PSA with any concerns or queries they may have at anytime during the consultative and implementation process. The PSA emphasised the need for transparency and the opportunity to comment on proposals as they are developed.

All PSA members are encouraged to attend these briefings as they will provide a forum for information as well as feedback. As it has not been determined specifically which services will be affected, it is in your interest to attend, as access to shared services will be a key issue in the future.

For further information please contact Acting Assistant Chief Industrial Officer Ian D Peak on ian@cpsu.asn.au, or Research Officer Josie Barbaro on jxb@cpsu.asn.au

Information from previous meetings can be found here.
