ANTI POVERTY AND CUSTOMER SERVICES MEMBERS GAIN A RECLASSIFICATION

In December 2005 Beth Dunning, Executive Director Families SA announced a review into classification levels in many areas in Families SA. The commitment was given by the department that any re-classifications of positions would be backdated to December 2005.

PSA has been actively involved on behalf of members employed in Anti Poverty and Customer Services and a number of meetings were held with departmental representatives to achieve a positive outcome for Senior Financial Counselors and Community Support Workers.

The Supervisor, Anti Poverty Services has been classified at the OPS5 level and the Community Support Worker (Financial Counsellings) has been classified at the OPS 3 level.
District Centre Managers will be required to certify that a staff member is working to the new job description.

Families SA have indicated that all back payments will be processed by the end of the financial year.

PSA has been in contact with a Human Resources Strategy and Consulting Unit representative to discuss the Certifications process and to ensure it is fair and equitable. All staff affected with be advised individually once the process is completed. Any individual concerns will be investigated once all staff have been assessed.
