PRACTICE FOR PSYCHOLOGISTS
Further
to the Public Service Association (PSA) Brief of 7 June 2007, the PSA had discussions today (13/7/07) with the
Department of Health (DH) regarding the Principles. As reported in
that Brief, DH had agreed that the model should be similar to
the agreement between the medical specialists and DH for private
practice.
The
medical specialists agreement is still under review and once this is
completed discussions can commence on the model for clinical
psychologists.
DH also advised the PSA that they are considering expanding rights to private practice to other allied health professionals. Whilst agreeing with this, the PSA stated that this should not delay the introduction of this initiative to Clinical Psychologists. For
