TRUMPS SYSTEM CONCERNS
PSA members may be aware of media comments regarding delays in licence renewals and vehicle registration through the introduction of the TRUMPS system. PSA members have advised the PSA of difficulties that customers are experiencing and the impact on workloads upon themselves. It is recognised that the introduction of a new system dealing with millions of transactions will result in many people experiencing difficulties, even if only a small percentage of users are affected. General Secretary, Jan McMahon and Assistant General Secretary, Nev Kitchin met with DTEI Chief Executive, Jim Hallion and senior executives this morning. The PSA identified those concerns raised by members. DTEI have explained the process leading to the introduction of TRUMPS and its ongoing process to identify and deal with problems. The Chief Executive advised that weekly system fixes are being undertaken and expects the majority of issues to be resolved within 4 weeks. The PSA recognises and values the work undertaken by Public Sector staff in this process. The PSA will continue to meet with DTEI at a senior level to monitor this situation and to ensure that members and community concerns are promptly addressed. (Chief
