SHARED SERVICES UPDATE/MEMBER SURVEY

Following previous emails and reports in the Advertiser, PSA members
would by now be aware that Cabinet has approved the establishment of
Shared Services SA, as part of its budget savings strategy. Over the
period of the initiative, approximately 570 Full Time Equivalents
(FTE's) will be lost . The impact in regional South Australia will be
significant.

You can help by completing the PSA survey available here after reading this message if you perform any corporate functions which may be included in Shared Services (particularly Payroll, Accounts Payable and Receivable) and answering the questions in that survey. The survey should then be faxed to the PSA at (08) 8223 6509. This is particularly important as PSA is not being provided details.

To ensure the best representation for PSA members, we need your
feedback. All responses will be treated in confidence.

Members have begun to express their concerns about issues such as having
to relocate to the Adelaide CBD and associated travel and relocation
expenses, potential loss to Salary Sacrifice benefits, redeployment
arrangements, and others. At this stage the Government has not given an
assurance that employees will not be financially disadvantaged, and has
not provided details of positions and locations affected, transition or
redeployment principles.

The Shared Services Reform Office will be conducting Agency briefings
from the 30/10/07 and PSA members are encouraged to attend and voice
their concerns. Employees are asked to register at the SSRO website
http://www.treasury.sa.gov.au/ssro/registration.html

Should you have any queries, please contact PSA Industrial Officer Josie Barbaro on jxb@cpsu.asn.au or 8205 3295.
