PROPOSED SECURITY FOR DFC CONNECTED SERVICES CENTRE IN MOUNT GAMBIER
On Tuesday 23 October 2007, PSA Officers met with Peter Bull, Director Organisational Development; David Shone, HR and Stuart Arbon, a security consultant with ISM Associates at Riverside Building. The PSA was represented by Ian Peak, Acting Assistant Chief Industrial Officer and Andy Alcock, OH&S Industrial Officer. Mt Gambier members were represented by Andrea Newton and Michael Cove. The meeting was addressed by Stuart Arbon who led the meeting through a detailed risk register he had prepared for the proposed centre. The PSA team was satisfied with the risk assessment carried out by ISM and the major hazards identified. Several days before the meeting, the PSA received a letter from DFC giving an assurance that once the consultations between the DFC and PSA regarding the Security Management Plan have been completed, the plan will not be subsequently altered without further consultation with the PSA. After the 23 October meeting, DCF officials confirmed that any such consultation would occur with the PSA leadership as well as with PSA members at Mt Gambier. The
PSA will keep members informed of future developments. For enquiries
