The PSA welcomes the announcement by Minister Weatherill regarding the “Inside Out 07” initiative, opening the doors of public sector workplaces to the community to demonstrate the important work that PSA members do, and to attract more people to public sector careers. The program is designed to provide an insight into public sector careers. In addition, the inaugural Premier's Awards were announced recognising excellence in the public sector. The PSA is pleased that its recommendations made to the Public Sector Government Reform Commission in May 2006 have been adopted. These included; It is recommended that the Government aim to be an employer of choice and to meet Australian standards to achieve this It is recommended that the Government initiate a public sector awards night.
