COUNTRY HEALTH SA INDUSTRIAL LIAISON FORUM

On Wednesday 14 November 2007, PSA Industrial Officer Dolly Costello attended the Country Health SA Industrial Liason Forum (ILF). The following key agenda items were discussed.

SHARED SERVICES

Shared Service SA (SSSA) is a major issue for Country Health SA with unique sensitivities. A task group is being formed regarding Shared Services SA, and will include an HR Representative,  Finance Representative, and three Chief Executive Officers. The task group will focus on supporting staff through the SSSA process. PSA advised that concerns about the implementation of Shared Services still remain. The PSA has submitted a response to the draft HR Principles and Consultation Engagement Strategy document.

The PSA expects to receive shortly a second document dealing with issues for regional employees. The PSA advised that it expected to meet with the Department of Treasury and Finance and Department of Premier and Cabinet shortly to discuss redeployment principles, and would not support any changes to redeployment practices that disadvantage PSA members. It should be noted that the PSA has written to the Minister of Health seeking the quarantining of regional employees from Shared Service initiatives. PSA regional members have expressed very strongly their opposition to moving to the city.
