SA WATER RELOCATION TO VICTORIA SQUARE

BACKGROUND:

The Public Service Association (PSA) is continuing to consult with SA Water about matters that will directly affect members who will be required to relocate to the new premises on Victoria Square, scheduled to occur in August 2008. The PSA is committed to ensure that SA Water provides adequate resources for members to carry out their daily duties in a safe and healthy working environment. The PSA expects the new premises will adequately satisfy all government OH&S and accommodation standards.

However to ensure the PSA adequately represents members, the PSA requests you to advise the PSA of your concerns about relocating to Victoria Square. The PSA wants to ensure SA Water is fully aware of members' concerns, so that consultation to enable their resolution occurs in a timely manner.

ACTION:

PSA policy for any employer-initiated relocation is that, “no members should be disadvantaged because of relocation driven by Management.”

To enable the PSA to resolve your concerns, members are requested to contact or forward details emanating from the intended relocation to PSA Industrial Officer Alan Wheeldon (details below). All contacts will be treated with strict confidence.

Members are also asked to give serious consideration to becoming a PSA Worksite Representative. PSA Worksite Representatives are a vital link in the on-going communication between members, the PSA and SA Water Consultative Forums. Full training in paid time and support is provided to members interested in becoming a PSA Worksite Representative.

If you have any concerns, please contact PSA Industrial Officer Alan Wheeldon on avw@cpsu.asn.au or phone: 8205 3204.
