NOT ENOUGH  - FAMILIES SA !

Public Service Association (PSA) members at the Modbury District Centre of Families SA have determined to campaign if current resources are not maintained by close of business Wednesday 27 February 2008.

At a meeting of members held on the evening of Thursday 21 February 2008, the following motion was passed unanimously:

That this meeting of members welcomes the offer of contract extensions.  However, members are already suffering from unreasonable workloads and any further loss of staff resources is unacceptable.

The uncertainty regarding contracts has had an extremely demoralising affect on all workers at the Modbury District Centre.

To ensure a safe and reasonable workload and service delivery to the community, members demand that all vacancies be filled and contracts be extended until substantive employees return.  The Senior Practitioner position in the Family Connections team, the loss of which will be untenable, should be maintained.

Should no acceptable resolution be forthcoming by 5pm Wednesday 27 February 2008, members will commence an industrial campaign.”

It is unacceptable that the support for families and children is put at risk. Families SA has a responsibility for the most vulnerable in the community.

Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact PSA Industrial Officer Vanessa Ravenhill by email: vr@cpsu.asn.au or phone: 8205 3251.
