The Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation (Scheme Review) Amendment Bill 2008 has been tabled in Parliament. As predicted, the draft legislation would impose significant reductions on injured workers pay and conditions.

The PSA, together with SA Unions, is working to support injured workers and strongly opposes legislation which cuts entitlements.

The PSA understand that the Government intends to debate the Bill before Parliament on 1^st April, 2008. Currently the PSA is analysing the proposed Bill and will provide members with information on the impact for members.

Public Sector employees working for the community need to know they will be looked after if they are injured doing their jobs.

The PSA does not accept reductions in members' entitlements and will continue to campaign to protect PSA members.
