MODBURY HOSPITAL UPDATE
The Department of Health Industrial Liaison Committee met recently. The purpose of the DOH Industrial Liaison Committee (ILF) is to provide a consultative mechanism between DOH management and the recognised health care unions (ANF, SASMOA, LHMWU) who have members employed across the health portfolio. PSA initiated discussion in regards to a number of important issues at this forum which have been raised by Modbury Hospital members. A document summarizing these issues was given to management and the PSA is awaiting a response. Once a response is received, the PSA will report back to members.
The issues raised
included the following:
Staffing in the
front of house area comprising of admissions, emergency reception
counter and switchboard, members in this area constantly work
rostered days off and public holidays. Working 7.5 hours without a
break occurs on a regular basis. Time sheets indicate the high
number of hours worked.
