WORKCOVER ENTERPRISE BARGAINING

The current WorkCover Enterprise Agreement remains in force until the 17th of January 2009.

Clause 3 of the Agreement commits the parties to commence negotiations no later than 6 months prior to the expiry of the agreement.

Initial discussions around a new agreement have started within the Consultative Group. In addition, staff and Union Consultative Group members have met and commenced identifying issues that will form the basis for negotiation with the Corporation.

Pay will be a major issue in negotiations and the PSA/CPSU will be pursuing the best possible outcome for members. Other issues identified for possible inclusion in negotiations include access to single-day long service leave, and increasing paid maternity leave to 14 weeks with an option to work part-time on resumption from maternity leave.

PSA/CPSU is represented on the Consultative Group by Industrial Officer Ken Smith and Worksite Representative Philip Marshall, both of whom will be directly involved in Enterprise Agreement negotiations.

The next meeting of the Consultative Group is scheduled for 9.00 am next Wednesday, 2nd July.

Further reports will be provided to members as negotiations proceed.

Contact Industrial Officer Ken Smith on 8205 3231 or email: ks@cpsu.asn.au if you have any queries or comments
