CNAHS INDUSTRIAL LIAISON FORUM

On Thursday 26 June 2008 the Central Northern Adelaide Health Service (CNAHS ) Industrial Liaison Forum (ILF) was held. The following are the key agenda items emanating from the meeting:

Shared Services

The service design and number of FTEs is currently being finalised for payroll.

A court ruling has been obtained by the ATO in relation to salary sacrifice entitlements which will allow a 12 month extension from transition.

Communication about the transition with the regions is to be provided in an update in the coming months by the Shared Service Office.

Discussions have also commenced in relation to HR in Shared Services.

Treasury continues to ignore fundamentals concerns raised in relation to Shared Services

Health Care Bill

This was due for commencement on 1st July 2008. There are a range of changes including the abolishing of Boards. Most committees will report to Dr. Tony Sherbon. Essentially for staff it is reportedly 'business as usual.'

Mental Health – Glenside Master Plan

In terms of the Glenside Master Plan, the consolidation and movement of staff is the current key topic. The hospital is to move to the Southern side of the campus and the staff effected will need to move to the northern side whilst this is being built.

The film Corporation is to move into the main building by March 2009. This will have a significant impact on members who provide statewide services from this building.

A consultative committee has now been set up and the HR principles are currently being established.

It is expected that a focus group will be put together to assist staff.

Forensic Mental Health Service

There are ongoing concerns in relation to the move of this service to Mobilong. A meeting is to take place with staff in the coming weeks and a consultative committee is being established.

The PSA will be campaigning to have this decision reversed. All health Unions believe it would be inappropriate to move this service to Mobilong.

Ambulatory and Primary Health Care Directorate consolidation with CNAHS

The consultation process on the proposed organisational structure has been undertaken with all staff and is now complete. Copies of the final structure have been sent to the PSA and given to staff at a meeting held in June. A transitional plan is currently being developed by the Executive leadership Team, A&PHC to commence implementation of the new structure.

SA Pathology

Stage one transition was set to be implemented on July 1st 2008.. The first Industrial Liaison Forum will be held on 4th August and will continue thereafter on the first Monday of each month. A range of positions have been advertised for the service, particularly for Executive level positions.
