AMBULATORY AND PRIMARY HEALTH CARE INDUSTRIAL LIAISON FORUM On Tuesday 8 July 2008 the Ambulatory and Primary Health Care Industrial Liaison (ILF) meeting was held. The following are the key agenda items which were discussed: New Service Structure The new service structure, 'Kanggawdoli' (Step Down) is still in the process of being finalised. Unions have endorsed the HR Principles. These principles have been sent to managers at the new service structure for circulation to staff. The building work for the new complex is expected to be completed in September. Currently there is uncertainty regarding funding for the new model so staff will move over in their existing roles for now. Ambulatory and Primary Health Care Directorate restructure Consultation for this new structure has been finalised and the restructure took effect on 1 July 2008. The General Managers now have new titles ie. Health Improvement, Population Health Equity and Service Improvement. General Managers are currently reviewing structures within each of the divisions. All three General Managers will be relocated and based at the one site in Modbury. The finance unit will also be consolidated in one site and some staff may be relocated to the Modbury Education Centre. GP Plus Centres There have been developments for the Elizabeth GP Plus Centre which will provide opportunities for allied health members. A Modbury Super clinic is currently in the early stages of being discussed as an option for the future. There are expected to be forums held for interested community members to discuss the possibilities of this model and concerns. Discussions surrounding the service model for the CBD proposed centre continue.
