The Public Service Association has representatives on the Steering Committee overseeing the Administration Review.  Your representatives are Industrial Officer Sue Cummins and Worksite Representatives Janet Puplett (metro) and Janet Hughes (country).

When the Steering Committee met in early August 2008 members raised concerns about the draft Project Brief not meeting managers' and staff's expectations from the Administrative Review.  PSA were particularly concerned about the administrative positions not being included in the restructure of Disability SA, as they were transitioned across without analysis of work value, duties, or resources required.  Management took these concerns on board and the Administrative Review was delayed again.

The Steering Committee met on Monday 22 September 2008.  It was announced that the Project Brief will be redefined in particular the scope of the review.  It is proposed to clearly define the Service Delivery Model for Disability SA, and map existing resources, according to skills.   A restructure of the Administrative Services would be required to enable DSA to quarantine positions to the affected work group.  This restructure will require the development of a new organisational structure for administrative positions that are in scope and new  Job & Person Specifications.  Also as part of the process old Job & Person Specifications will be analyzed to make sure they reflect existing duties performed.

A new Project Officer has been appointed from the Project Management Office of Department for Families & Communities (DFC), Ms Louiza Kallis.

It is important that PSA members are appropriately remunerated for the work they undertake, which may not be happening at present.  If members believe they are working at a higher level, consideration of an 'Additional Duties' Allowance may be given, whilst this restructure process occurs.

Part of any restructure will be the development of HR and quarantine principles in consultation with the PSA.
