PO STREAM PROGRESSION UPDATE

Public Service Association(PSA) Worksite Representatives(Reps) held a meeting on the 14th October 2008 and discussed the latest changes to the continuing Social Work Targeted Classification Assessment Process(T-CAP).

After the latest round of discussions between the PSA and the Department for Families and Communities(DFC), a draft proposal of T-CAP was distributed to members to endorse. Members did not support the latest amendments and passed the following resolution:

"This meeting of PSA Families SA Worksite Representatives:

Rejects the proposed procedural and document changes to the T-CAP Progression process.

Calls on the Department for Families and Communities to enter into urgent discussions with the PSA on outstanding issues including enabling all Familes SA PO1 members to be considered for progression to PO2, and difficulties in assessing applications from CRU, CLU and Aboriginal Family Practitioner members."

Further discussions with DFC will occur in the near future and the outcome will be communicated to members for consideration.
