MEMBERS REJECT WORKCOVER MANAGEMENT PROPOSAL

A meeting of PSA/CPSU  and FSU members yesterday (22 October 2008) unanimously resolved that:

This meeting of PSA/CPSU and FSU members:

Rejects the management proposal for a new certified agreement

Rejects cutbacks of conditions as the basis for a new agreement

Calls on the WorkCover Board to reject the management proposal.

The management proposal is based on:
A redundancy cap set at 52 weeks for all new staff with the 6 week notice period associated with redundancies only applying at management discretion.

New Grade 5 appointments (including for current staff below Grade 5 who wish to progress) will be by individual contract and excluded from the new Certified Agreement.

Annual Leave Loadings will be rolled into fortnightly pay.

Salary increase of 4% back-dated to August 2008 and to apply for each year of the agreement

The WorkCover Board and the Corporation have been advised formally of the outcome of the meeting.

Members will continue to be kept informed of developments.
