SHARED SERVICES CAMPAIGN FIGHTING FOR HEALTH WORKERS

A meeting of PSA members employed by the Department of Health held today, the 5 November 2008, resolved to escalate bans in view of the Government's refusal to meaningfully negotiate in the Shared Services Dispute.

The Government position is that it is expecting Health Sector workers to produce savings for the Government in Shared Services and to be rewarded for that by a take home pay cut, which will arise from the loss of salary sacrifice benefits currently enjoyed by health sector workers.

Health sector workers who will be moved into Shared Services SA (Treasury & Finance) are also expected to bear the burden of dislocation and disruption to their lives and increased costs (e.g. transport, child care, etc.) without any proper recompense by the Government.

All of this is unacceptable to the PSA. The PSA calls upon all State Government workers especially those in health to support the actions taken by those health sector workers who are immediately affected by the Government's unfair and unjust move against them.

A copy of the resolution carried by the meeting of PSA members earlier today is here.
