MINDA UNION COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT

The Minda Incorporated Union Collective Agreement No. 6 will reach it's nominal expiry date shortly.  It is expected that Minda Incorporated will commence negotiations with the PSA/CPSU for a new Agreement in the near future.

As part of this process, the PSA/CPSU will lodge a claim for increased salaries and other conditions of employment on behalf of its members.

Members will recall the PSA/CPSU requesting feedback regarding what items/issues they considered needed to be raised as part of the claim.

Following responses from members and feedback from membership meetings held during November 2008, the following key items/issues have been put forward to assist in the development of a claim.

1.SALARY INCREASE
5% salary increase per annum.

2.MATERNITY, PATERNITY AND ADOPTION LEAVE/PARITY WITH STATE PUBLIC SECTOR
Increase paid maternity and adoption leave from 4 weeks to 14 weeks.

3.PURCHASED LEAVE
Purchased leave allows employees to purchase a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 2 weeks leave per year.

4.ON-CALL ALLOWANCE PARITY WITH STATE PUBLIC SECTOR
On-call allowance to be paid for all on-call work required for the following classifications streams, Professional Services, Administrative Services, Operational Services, Technical Services

5.WORKLIFE FLEXIBILITY - VOLUNTARY FLEXIBILITY WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
Parity with State Public Sector arrangements.

6.CLASSIFICATION OF DEVELOPMENT EDUCATORS
The qualification for Developmental Educators has changed from what was originally a Diploma level qualification to a four year tertiary degree level qualification.  As a degree level qualification the positions would be more appropriately classified in the Professional Services Officer (PSO) stream.

7.CLASSIFICATION/RENUMERATION OF LAUNDRY ASSISTANTS
Laundry Assistants have similar challenges, responsibilities, position outcomes and reporting requirements when compared to Vocational Services Officers and should be renumerated at the same level.

8.PAY PARITY WITH SA PUBLIC SECTOR EMPLOYEES FOR ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS.
Degree qualified Allied Health Professionals are falling behind their colleagues in the Public Sector and are seeking pay parity with the SA Government Sector.

9.EXISTING AGREEMENT NUMBER 6 CONDITIONS
All existing conditions in the Minda Incorporated Union Collective Agreement Number 6 unless specifically improved to apply in the next collective agreement.

Please forward any additional items/issues you may have to PSA Senior Industrial officer Marg Jeffries on 8205 3263 or email mj@cpsu.asn.au by COB Wednesday 24 December 2008
