DFC JOB SPECIFICATIONS REVISED

The Public Service Association was invited to attend a meeting recently, concerning the introduction of the On-line Application System and revised Job Specifications. Industrial Officer Vanessa Ravenhill attended the meeting with Department for Families and Communities (DFC) Workforce Strategy representatives.

The PSA was advised that Job and Person Specifications for roles across DFC have been reviewed to identify the most common responsibilities and associated tasks for each role. New standard templates have been developed with the focus being to simplify the development of specifications. Five DFC Capabilities have been advised through the Workforce Planning consultations. Information is available on the DFC Intranet, and can also be obtaned from DFC HR Project Officer, Claire Bulloch.

The PSA was also advised that the On-line Application System will be launched in April 2009 and information sessions are being conducted by DFC HR Project Officers. Members are encouraged to raise any concerns through this process. The PSA sought assurances that no member would be disadvantaged by the implementation of this new procedure, particularly in worksites where members did not have access to a computer. The PSA was advised that all members will have the option of continuing to obtain relevant information from the contact person for the particular position.
