RAH HIGHER DUTIES ALLOWANCE UPDATE
After PSA members alerted the PSA of a change to 'regional policy', the PSA immediately took action to ensure that the RAH was not able to increase the requirement before being paid Higher Duties Allowance from 6 days to after 10 days. The PSA wrote to the Chief Executive of SA Health advising that the memo that was sent out by the General Manager of the RAH was in breach of current industrial instruments and would constitute an underpayment of wages that could be pursued in the Industrial Commission. The PSA asked Dr Sherbon to investigate the matter and ensure that the situation was rectified across all areas of SA Health. The PSA also sought a commitment that all affected staff would be back paid in accordance with current industrial entitlements. The General Manager of the RAH, Ms Lindsey Gough subsequently withdrew the memo. If any member is asked to work in a higher role, ensure you are remunerated correctly, and just as importantly, ensure your workload is appropriate and your substantive role is being covered in your absence.
