ENTERPRISE BARGAINING 2009

The South Australian Government Wages Parity (Salaried) Enterprise Agreement 2006 expires on 21 December 2009. The Agreement provides that negotiations for a new Agreement may commence not earlier than 3 months prior to that expiry.

Public Sector Workforce Relations (PSWR) has written to the PSA and other parties to the current Agreement advising its willingness to discuss the terms of a new Agreement, without prejudice to formal negotiations commencing at a later date.

Senior PSA officials today met with PSWR for without prejudice discussions. The PSA was represented by President Lindsay Oxlad, General Secretary Jan McMahon, Chief Industrial Officer Peter Christopher and Industrial Officer Simon Johnson.

PSWR advised that any discussions would be without prejudice, and whilst not formal, negotiations could usefully explore matters of common interest.

The PSA advised that while a formal claim had not yet been finalised, it would be looking at a framework which provided for:

  • A universal salary increase for all.

  • Protection of existing conditions.

  • Job security.

  • Improvements to conditions.

  • Agency/classification specific schedules to deal with particular requirements.

Members ongoing input to this process is welcome.
