SA WATER POLICY REVIEWS

SA Water wrote to the PSA and confirmed the introduction of two policies that directly affect the day to day working life of all SA Water employees.

Those new policies are:

SA Water drug and alcohol procedure
SA Water working outdoors procedure

The policy details are too extensive to comment on in this information brief. However, the PSA welcomes the development of policies via SA Water to ensure the maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment for PSA members.

SA Water also advises “both procedures will be made available to all SA Water employees for comment and input via the Intranet within the next two weeks”.

Accordingly the PSA request members to review the draft policies on the Intranet and provide feedback comment either directly through SA Water or via the PSA to ensure the policies fully reflect the terms and conditions of employment that apply in SA Water and do not disadvantage PSA members. The PSA has been asked to respond to SA Water by 11 September 2009.

ENTERPRISE BARGAINING

The PSA has commenced informal negotiations with SA Water toward the negotiation of a new Enterprise Agreement. During those negotiations the PSA has confirmed the new Enterprise Agreement must contain

*    no loss of existing entitlements or conditions
*    continuation of the no forced redundancy policy
*    wage salary and conditions outcomes no less than those to be achieved         in the upcoming whole of Government Parity Enterprise Bargaining                 negotiations
*    registration of the Enterprise Agreement in either the State or Federal             jurisdiction
