The
Public Service Association (PSA) as a key stakeholder in state health
services has been provided with a draft copy of the South Australian
Public Health Bill 2009 by the Minister for Health.
The draft
Bill is the result of a review of the Public and Environmental Health
Act 1987
The draft South Australian Public Health Bill 2009
aims to provide a modernised, flexible legislative framework so that
South Australia can better respond to new public health challenges as
well as traditional sanitation issues.
The Bill has a number
of new elements but maintains and improves many provisions within the
current legislation.
Copies of the Bill together with an
Explanatory Paper can be downloaded from the website: WWW.HEALTH.SA.GOV.AU/PEHS/PUBLICHEALTHBILL2009
PSA
will be providing feedback on the draft Bill by close of business
