REVIEW OF HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT STRUCTURES

As previously notified to all CNAHS members the PSA has received notification from the CNAHS Regional Leadership Team (RLT) that it is seeking to review the management structures of Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre and St Margaret's Hospital in order to improve reporting relationships with their host hospitals thereby assisting the organisation to achieve its goals under the SA Health Plan.

Staff Forums have now been arranged and the PSA, together with other professional and industrial bodies, have now been invited to attend these forums to discuss the possible changes to the management structures of both Hampstead and St Margaret's with all staff.

Details of the staff forums are:

  • Thursday 17th September 2.30 – 3.30 pm – Hampstead Rehabilitation Hospital, C3 Large Room, C3 Building.

  • Friday 18th September 1.30 – 2.30 pm – St Margaret's Rehabilitation Hospital, Patient Dining Room

Please see the Executive Director's Bulletin that was recently distributed to staff at both sites. The bulletin is available here.

The PSA has received several comments from members outlining their concerns especially in regards to the management positions being a Nursing classification. PSA members are encouraged to attend the Staff Forums to voice their comments and concerns. PSA Industrial Officer, Margie Lindley, will be in attendance at the Staff Forum on Thursday 17th September. PSA members are encouraged to contact the PSA with any comments or feedback they would like the union to make on their behalf. Comments will be treated confidentially.

The PSA will ensure that member's concerns will be genuinely taken into account and responded to prior to changes being implemented. This is guaranteed by Clause 22 Consultative Processes of the Enterprise Agreement.  The grievance provisions of the Enterprise Agreement at Clause 23 Grievance and Dispute Avoidance Procedures also apply which the PSA can use if members are aggrieved.
